Trains to Birmingham New Street from Leamington Spa were halted as emergency services called

Trains to Birmingham New Street from Leamington Spa were halted this evening after the emergency services were called. CrossCountry Trains said that due to emergency services dealing with an incident, “all lines are blocked”.

National Rail said the incident affected services between Birmingham New Street, Stratford-upon-Avon and Leamington Spa. The disruption is expected to continue until 7 p.m. today, Saturday April 16.

It is not immediately clear what the incident is. British Transport Police have yet to issue an update.

National Rail published on its website: “Emergency services are dealing with an incident between Birmingham New Street / Stratford-upon-Avon and Leamington Spa. Whilst carrying out their work trains may be canceled or delayed for up to 50 minutes away. Disruption is expected until 7:00 p.m..”

CrossCountry Trains tweeted: “Due to emergency services dealing with an incident between Leamington Spa and Birmingham New Street, all lines are blocked.”
