Trains will not be able to stop at a station in Kent for more than a week while vital maintenance work is carried out.
East Malling Station, in High Street, East Malling, will be closed in May for ‘essential repairs’ to the platform steps.
The stop will be closed for eight days, from Monday May 9 to the following Monday May 16.
Southeastern tweeted, saying, “This is due to much-needed repairs to the station steps.”
Instead of taking a train to their usual stop, commuters and passengers will need to take a shuttle bus service which will run between East Malling and West Malling.
A Southeastern spokesperson said: “Unfortunately, we have to close East Malling station to passengers between May 9 and May 16.
“During a routine inspection, railway staff found that repairs needed to be made to the stairs leading to the station platforms.
“Our Network Rail colleagues have already carried out temporary repairs and will return to carry out permanent repairs.
“During the shutdown, trains will not stop at the station, but a shuttle bus service will operate between East Malling and West Malling where our passengers can join or alight trains.”
