Police hunt passenger with ‘heavy Liverpool accent’ after Scottish train incident

British Transport Police have released CCTV image of a man they want to speak to after an incident on a train.

Police said the incident took place earlier this year. The man is described as having a ‘strong’ Liverpool accent and officers believe he may have information to help with their investigation. The incident happened on a train between Waverley and Airdrie between 11.09pm and 11.30pm on Monday January 17.

The man, believed to be around 35, is described as around 5’7″/5’8″ tall according to the Daily Record. He has short brown hair and uneven, unshaven stubble. He is said to be wearing a black quilted style jacket with a hood and black jeans/trousers.

A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “I urge the man, or anyone with information relating to the man in the image, to contact British Transport Police. We can be contacted by text to 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 2200005227, or anonymous calls can be made to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
