Travelers face disruption to trains on the South Western Railway after trees fell on the tracks in Surrey this afternoon (April 6). Reports of the incident arrived from South Western Rail at 3.15pm when trees fell onto a railway line between Ascot and Bagshot.
The train operator shared the news on Twitter before warning that disruption could continue at peak times. In a Twitter post, they said: “[hazard sign] We have received reports of a tree blocking the railway line between Ascot and Bagshot.
“Train services may be disrupted in this area.” In a follow-up message, they continued: “At this time, we estimate that the disruption to our services will end at 5:00 p.m.
“We’ll let you know if that changes or when we have more information.” Cancellations and delays have been reported due to trees.
Two trains at 3.53pm and 4.23pm have already been canceled while trains at 4.53pm and 5.23pm have a danger flag, suggesting that any disruptions or cancellations could affect these services.
